A connection starts with a profile card

Answers to common questions, from signing up to starting a conversation.

Joining & profiles

Can I verify without a university email?

Yes. You can verify with a university email or documents. Complete your profile, then go to Settings → University verification.

Email verification is completed through the link we send you. For document verification, we will let you know the result after a review.

Can graduates or students on leave join?

Yes. Current students, students on leave, and graduates can join. The same birth-year range and university verification requirements apply.

My university is missing or its name is wrong.

You can request a university from the profile form. We will review it and let you know the result. Once added, select it to continue signing up.

If its name has changed or is incorrect, email contact@campus-couple.com. Adding a university does not verify your own affiliation.

Can I change my nickname or profile details?

Nicknames are generated automatically and cannot be changed. After completing signup, you also cannot change your gender, birth year, or height yourself.

You can update editable details such as your bio and interests in Settings → My profile. Contact support if your signup details are incorrect.

Can I introduce myself with my voice instead of a photo?

Campus Couple does not collect profile photos. Express yourself through your bio and interests, and optionally add a voice greeting of 3–15 seconds.

Your greeting is shared after approval. The first approval earns a one-time bean reward. You cannot change or delete the recording for 48 hours after each approval.

I forgot my login password.

Sign in with the Kakao, Google, or Apple account you used to join. Reset its password through that provider.

If you cannot find your login method, contact support. Never send your password or verification code.

Introductions & cards

Do cards only arrive at noon?

Regular introductions run at noon each day, Korea time. A first introduction after verification or another member requesting an extra card can bring you a card at other times.

An extra card costs 80 beans. No beans are spent if there is no eligible match.

It is past noon. Why did I not receive a card?

Daily introductions are not guaranteed. You may not receive a card if there is no eligible match.

Check that your profile and university verification are complete and that introductions are not paused or restricted. Regular introductions also pause while you have an active chat or have been away for two weeks or more.

Can I choose a type or only meet people nearby?

There are currently no custom preferred height or age-range settings. We prioritize recent activity dates and also consider location, age, and religion.

You may meet someone farther away. However, we do not introduce people whose birth years differ by more than 12 years.

Any tips for making a connection?

Visit regularly to check new cards. Write about your hobbies or things you would like to do together. Interests and a voice greeting can help others get to know you.

Cards are normally valid for 48 hours. If someone interests you, send a coffee invitation before the card expires.

Can I receive an old card again?

We do not reintroduce anyone you have opened a chat with. If you never opened a chat, you may be introduced again after three months, but this is not guaranteed.

What do the card colors mean?

We use a color close to your university's representative color, or one from our default palette if none is available. Colors do not indicate a member's rank or popularity.

Invitations & chats

How do I decline a coffee invitation?

There is no separate decline button. If you do not want to chat, you can leave the invitation unanswered until the card expires.

How long does a chat stay open?

Chats do not expire automatically. You can keep talking until one person ends the chat.

A chat you end cannot be reopened or restored. If the other person ends it, you cannot send new messages but can read the history for 30 days after it first ended. Ending it yourself removes it from your list sooner.

Can I only chat with one person at a time?

You can have multiple chats. Invitations and acceptances from existing cards can open more than one chat, and opening a new one does not close the others.

Daily free introductions pause while you have an active chat so you can focus on your connection. You become eligible again when all chats end. You can still use beans to request an extra card while chatting.

Can I tell if someone viewed my card?

We do not show each other whether a card has been opened. You can check recent activity on the card's detail page.

After you send a coffee invitation, a confirmation notification is created if the other person visits the app or website before it expires. This does not mean they opened your card.

When can I send photos in a chat?

Photos become available one hour after both people have sent their first message. A photo is displayed for one minute, so explain it in the conversation first if needed.

Can we move our conversation to KakaoTalk?

Get to know each other first, then exchange contact details if you both want to. Do not pressure someone to share personal information.

You can report inappropriate behavior from a card or chat. Check your reports and any replies from the team in Settings → My reports.

Beans & account

How do I collect daily beans?

Go to Settings → Coffee bean store and claim today's beans. You can claim once per day, Korea time, and the amount is random. If you already claimed, try again the next day.

Daily rewards are restricted if you verify with a university email used by a previously deleted account. Check the bean store for other rewards you can participate in.

How else can I earn beans?

University verification, your first approved voice greeting, inviting friends, and verified Everytime posts can earn beans. See the bean store for each reward's amount and requirements.

Visit every day from Sunday through Saturday to receive the weekly attendance reward automatically the following Sunday at 9 a.m., Korea time. Campus Couple currently operates as a free service and does not offer paid bean top-ups.

Are beans returned if my invitation is not accepted?

If the card expires without a chat opening, we return 50% of the beans spent on the invitation. If the recipient never visits the app or website between your invitation and its expiry, we return 100%.

Visiting counts as checking the invitation even without opening the card. Returns are processed when expired cards are cleared. The reason and amount appear in your notifications and bean history.

Do unused beans expire?

Free beans have no expiry date. They do not disappear simply because you keep them for a long time. However, deleting your account and rejoining does not restore your previous data or rewards.

Where can I turn notifications on or off?

In Settings → Notification settings, manage matching, chat, service, and marketing push notifications separately from email. If push notifications do not arrive, also check your phone's app notification permissions.

Turn off email notifications if you do not want optional messages sent to your university email. University verification and university request result emails you requested are sent separately.

Can I take a break from introductions?

Go to Settings → Account settings → Pause introductions. You cannot receive new introductions or request extra cards while paused.

You can still send and accept invitations from existing cards and continue existing chats. Turn the pause off in the same menu when you are ready.

How do I delete my account or join again?

End all active chats, then go to Settings → Account settings → Delete account. If you cannot access the app, check the account deletion guidance in Support.

You can rejoin three weeks (21 days) after deletion. Your profile and related data are deleted, but identifiers used for rejoining restrictions and abuse prevention, along with some operational records, are retained. See the privacy policy for details.

Previous account data and rewards are not restored. Verifying with the same university email restricts daily and app review rewards.
